Terms of use
Version: 2026-09-30.2
These terms govern the use of Maré Moda, a hosting and distribution platform for digital (PDF) swimwear and underwear sewing patterns.
1. Who we are
Maré Moda connects Designers (pattern makers who publish their patterns) and Makers (people who download and sew them). Maré Moda does not create or sell patterns: it hosts the files, distributes the content and controls access and downloads.
2. How it works
There are two kinds of pattern: • Free: anyone with an account can add them to their library and download the files. • Paid: the Designer sells the pattern herself, outside Maré Moda (for example on Instagram, WhatsApp, Etsy or her own site), and the customer pays her directly. After the sale, the Designer sends the customer an access code, and Maré Moda makes the files available in their library.
3. Sales made by Designers (external sales)
When a pattern is sold outside Maré Moda, the sale is a contract between the Designer and the customer. Maré Moda: provides hosting, distribution and access control for the content; takes no part in the sale; does not receive the price paid by the customer; and is not a party to the purchase contract between the Designer and the customer. The Designer is responsible for: the sale, the product description, the price, the commercial relationship with the customer (questions about the purchase, payment, cancellation and refund), the legal and tax obligations related to the sale, and providing the correct content.
4. Support: sale vs. delivery
Questions about an external sale — payment, cancellation, refund, price — must be handled directly with the Designer; each pattern's help page in your library shows her contacts. Maré Moda is responsible for its own service: if a file becomes unavailable, access isn't granted, the download or link fails, or the platform wrongly removes the content, report the problem from your library and we fix the failure. If the problem is in the content the Designer set up (a wrong or missing file, for example), we notify the Designer so she can fix it. Maré Moda may also record the complaint, help the customer technically, block new access, remove the content or suspend the Designer's account under these rules — without thereby becoming a party to the sale.
5. Sales through Maré Moda
Maré Moda currently does not sell patterns or process payments. If it ever offers sales directly through the platform, they will have their own rules (checkout, payment, refund and support), published before they start, and the external-sale rules above will not apply to them.
6. Registration and account
You must provide truthful information when creating your account and are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity carried out with your login.
7. User conduct
Sharing, reselling, publishing or redistributing a pattern's files (PDFs, images and instructions) is prohibited, whether the pattern is free or paid. Every download is recorded against the account that made it. Designers may only publish patterns of their own authorship.
8. Pattern usage licenses
Each pattern shows, on its page, the license chosen by its Designer. It defines what you may do with the garments you sew from the pattern: • Personal use: sew garments for yourself, your family and as gifts, without selling them. • Small business (handmade production): besides personal use, sell garments you sew yourself, handmade and in small quantities (studio, fairs, your own shop or social media), without outsourced or factory production. • Unlimited commercial use: sell garments with no quantity limit, including outsourced or factory production. Under every license: the pattern itself (PDF files, images and instructions) may not be shared, resold, published or redistributed, nor adapted to be sold as a pattern; the license is personal and non-transferable; and the license shown on the pattern when you got it is the one that applies. When selling garments, don't present the Designer's name, photos or brand as your own. Any use beyond these limits needs the Designer's written permission.
9. Intellectual property
Each pattern is authored by its Designer, who keeps all copyright over the design. Having a pattern in your library does not transfer its intellectual property.
10. Liability
Maré Moda answers for the operation of its hosting, access and download service. The quality, accuracy and results of the patterns, as well as the sales made by Designers, are the Designers' responsibility.
11. Applicable law
Maré Moda is used by people in Brazil and other countries, including the European Union. Nothing in these terms limits the rights your country's law grants to consumers.
12. Changes to these terms
